Since its inception, the Arts Fund advisory committee and staff have developed a deep understanding and knowledge of the issues and opportunities that face the small and medium-sized arts in Atlanta. As a result, the Arts Fund is a well-respected voice for this vital part of Atlanta’s arts scene, and is dedicated to helping Atlanta’s opinion leaders understand the critical role that these organizations play.

Staff Bios:

Lisa Cremin,
Director, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund
Lisa Cremin is the founding director of the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, and also focuses on the Foundation's Nonprofit Loan Fund, Social Innovation and Nonprofit Toolbox. She oversees and participates in multiple grantmaking programs including the Arts Fund. Under her leadership, the Arts Fund has directly supported more than 100 arts organizations in Atlanta employing a unique strategy directed at organizational stabilization. Lisa also works with donors at The Community Foundation who are interested in arts and culture, and oversees the Foundation’s Atlanta Public Art Legacy Fund.

Previously Lisa led a consulting firm based in New York and directed creative programs with for-profit and nonprofit entities, produced major international museum exhibitions, curated private visual art collections and designed philanthropic initiatives using arts to promote social change. Lisa worked at Christie’s International, NY and the Weston Gallery, California, and created visual arts programs for both the 1984 and 1996 Olympic Games in partnership with corporate sponsors.

Lisa Cremin attended Stanford University’s Executive Program for Philanthropy Leaders with a fellowship from the Lordians Foundation, is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, the Regional Leadership Institute and was an inaugural fellow of the Diversity Leadership Academy. She was an officer of Grantmakers in the Arts and recently served as chair of its 2008 national conference in Atlanta. She was a founding board member of Atlanta’s Public Art Advisory Committee. Lisa served for eight years as a fellow and was vice chair of the Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona. She is a graduate of Hamilton College.

Recent recognition includes: Atlanta Magazine's "Five for the Future" (2011), Business to Business’ 2008 Women of Excellence; Atlanta Magazine, 25 Power Women to Watch, 2005; Women’s Leadership Exchange, one of Georgia’s most influential female business leaders, 2005; and Lexus Leader of the Arts, 2004.

Josh Phillipson,
Program Associate, Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund

Josh serves as program associate for the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, a community initiative of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, where he manages the financial grant program, handling grants to more than 80 arts organizations in the metro Atlanta area. He also manages communications for the Arts Fund program and administers the Nonprofit Loan Fund.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Josh worked as the project and studio manager at Deepend and Tesser, both graphic design and advertising firms in San Francisco. He has a degree in Theater from Emory University. He is a 2012-2013 Southeastern Council of Foundation's Hull Fellow and a graduate of the Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta.
