Update on 2009 Grant Programs

The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, a community initiative of The Community Foundation, has significantly revised its grant program over the last several months. The specifics of the grant program will soon be available as outlined in the schedule below. There WILL be changes in the program and eligibility from 2008 and prior years. Also, there will be a relatively short time between when grant information and applications are made public and when applications are due. Please note the schedule below for when announcements will be made and orientations will be held. Organizations are especially encouraged to attend an orientation session this year.

SCHEDULE

February 6 - Announcement and explanation of grant program and Toolbox program with deadline dates. Guidelines and applications will be posted on the Arts Fund website at this time.

February 11-24 - Orientation sessions for organizations interested in applying will be held throughout February.

March 6 – Deadlines for the Letter of Intent to Apply for a Grant AND the Toolbox Management Consulting Award.

April 2 – Final grant application deadline (only for organizations selected to submit a final application after review of their Letter of Intent to Apply.)

May – Grant and Toolbox recipients notified.

ORIENTATION SESSIONS

All organizations are strongly encouraged to attend an orientation session. Arts Fund staff will discuss the new grant program, changes from prior years and answer questions. RSVPs are required to attend. Please email your RSVP to Josh Phillipson at jphillipson@atlcf.org. Include the organization name, the name of the individual attendee(s) and which session date they will be attending.

Orientation sessions will cover the grant program, the Toolbox Award and the Arts Loan Fund. The session on 2/24 will also cover other grant programs of The Community Foundation to which arts organization may apply.

The 2/24 orientation session will be in conjunction with The Community Foundation's Common Good Funds and Neighborhood Fund grant programs. If your organization is interested in learning about multiple grant programs, please send more than one person as the sessions will be concurrent.
