ART PAPERS (Link)
With an annual circulation of over 162,000 including every state and more than 36 countries, Atlanta's ART PAPERS magazine is a portal to the world of contemporary art and a wellspring for the work of emerging and established artists and writers. ARTPAPERS has pushed the boundaries of art examination, criticism, and creation for 30 years, relaunching in 2006 with a new design and winning a prestigious Andy Warhol Foundation award. The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund is providing ART PAPERS with a grant of $110,000 to fund a new development and public relations staff position for three years. This new staff position will communicate the organization's unique mission and innovative programs while cultivating new funders, supporters, and partners.

Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts (Link)
Since 1989, the Conyers Rockdale Council for the Arts (CRCA) has worked to make the arts an integral part of community development - providing access to, and advocacy for ,the arts and artists. Reaching over 7,000 residents each year through performances, artist residencies, classes, and camp programs, CRCA is now dedicated to expanding the number and quality of theatrical performances in its 99-seat theater, located in downtown Conyers. With a grant of $75,000 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund, CRCA will be able to make needed facility improvements to their theater, including safe wiring and lighting, completion of a backstage area, and creation of new office space for staff and volunteers.

Northeast Atlanta Ballet Ensemble (Link)
The mission of the Northeast Atlanta Ballet Ensemble is twofold: provide professional quality ballet performances at affordable prices and create challenging performance opportunities for aspiring young dancers. Founded in 1996 in Gwinnett County, the Ensemble is comprised of more than 45 professional and pre-professional dancers and 200 volunteers. The significant volunteer base coordinates the bulk of the Ensemble's administrative work, including audience development, marketing, and fundraising. The Ensemble's Board feels that the growth and stability of the organization hinges on the creation of a new business manager staff position. A grant of $75,000 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund will allow the Northeast Atlanta Ballet Ensemble to support this new position for two years.

PushPush Theater (Link)
An integral part of the vision behind PushPush Theater is encouraging local artists to take artistic risks, explore new ideas, and collaborate in new ways. Just completing its 10thanniversary season, the theater provides 280 professional performances per year, as well as artist training, playwriting programs, and youth and outreach activities that reach a total of more than 10,000 people annually. The managing and producing artistic directors strive to move PushPush's artistic vision forward but are challenged by the organization's day-to-day business needs. To this end, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund is awarding PushPush Theater $68,000 to fund a new business manager staff position for the next three years.

Several Dancers Core (Link)
Several Dancers Core (SDC) is a nonprofit dance organization that touches the lives of 60,000 people annually through contemporary dance. Now in its 26th year, SDC works to reach diverse communities through targeted programs and performances, including the recent Mexican and U.S. premiere of a collaborative project called Corazón Abriendo (Opening Heart) - the culmination of nearly three years of artistic exchange with artists in Chiapas, Mexico. Last year also brought an Arts Stabilization Toolbox Award to SDC in the form of a new income generation plan, which reinforced the need for a fund development staff position for the organization. A grant of $50,000 from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund will establish this position and fund it for the next two years.

The Spruill Center for the Arts (Link)
The Spruill Center for the Arts was founded in 1975 and has grown from a handful of citizens creating arts education opportunities to a major arts resource for thousands of people across metro Atlanta, including classes, workshops, and a visual arts gallery. An Arts Stabilization Toolbox Award in 2006 has strengthened the board and has help edit to see that staff enhancement, better technology, and the expansion of The Spruill Center are crucial to meeting the organization’s mission. The Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund is granting The Spruill Center $20,000, in conjunction with a grant of $50,000 from the Fidelity Foundation, so that The Spruill Center can offer online registrations to 6,000 students annually and expand its staff.

Theatrical Outfit (Link)
The past few years have been transformative for Theatrical Outfit, from relocating to the new Blazer Theater at Herren's to increased group ticket sales with only the assistance of a part-time sales position. Since 1976, Theatrical Outfit has entertained and educated audiences throughout Atlanta, featuring contemporary drama with an emphasis on the American South. Each year nearly 17,000 people experience Theatrical Outfit's performances, classes, and workshops, and a grant from the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund will help this audience grow. A $75,000 grant will create a full-time group sales position at the organization for three years, further strengthening Theatrical Outfit's financial health.

Arts Stabilization Toolbox (Link)
Since 2000, the Metropolitan Atlanta Arts Fund has partnered with the Georgia Center for Nonprofits to provide professional business consulting and services to arts groups through the Arts Stabilization Toolbox program. Offering nearly $400,000 in consulting to 43 arts groups, the Toolbox program has helped organizations with Board development, strategic planning, volunteer management, and other marketing, technology, and funding needs. Often Toolbox packages begin a trajectory for the stabilization of arts organizations, leading them to the financial support of Arts Fund grants. Because of an unusual increase in demand for these awards, the Arts Fund is adding $27,000 in new monies for additional capacity-building projects through the Toolbox program.
Recipients of Toolbox awards in the last year are: Actors Theatre of Atlanta, Ballethnic Dance Company, Dad's Garage, Georgia Young Singers, Gwinnett Ballet Theatre, Metropolitan Ballet Theatre, Out of Hand Theater, Several Dancers Core, The Spruill Center for the Arts, Theatre Decatur, and The Wren's Nest.
