Money isn't always the answer for arts organizations. Expert consultation, executive training, board development and organizational skill enrichment can also create a significant impact. The Arts Stabilization Toolbox was created in 2000 to meet the requests of small and medium-sized arts organizations for just such a service. Toolbox awards, operating in partnership with the GCN (Georgia Center for Nonprofits) connect arts organization leaders with direct services from some of Atlanta's leading consultants, access to high level training and
peer networks.

Through Toolbox awards, selected arts groups receive direct assistance from professional consultants to help them strengthen their work in the areas of:
  • management
  • collaboration
  • governance
  • fundraising
  • technology planning
  • diversity management
  • strategic planning
  • communications
A Toolbox award gives an arts organization a unique opportunity for professional development that is customized to specific challenges that organization faces, and may include connections to peer networks, conference attendance, books, classes and other valuable resources in addition to professional consultation.

Solutions Delivered
Together, consultants and arts organizations develop strategic plans, build stronger boards, develop diversity practices, improve management practices, create development plans, reach out to key audiences with targeted communications and more. As a Toolbox award recipient, each arts organization receives a comprehensive organizational assessment, as well as top-tier, professional, customer-centered service from the expert engaged for the specific project.

Special Thanks
The Arts Stabilization Toolbox ongoing program is operated with major funding from The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta and from the Fulton County Commission under the guidance of the Fulton County Arts Council.
